Today we're announcing something we've been working toward since Lifeline was founded: the expansion of our platform from a revenue cycle management system into a complete EMS operating system.
Why We're Building This
Our entire revenue cycle operation already runs on the Lifeline platform. Every claim, every payment, every denial — managed in a system we built specifically for EMS billing. It works because we designed it around how EMS billing actually works, not how generic medical billing works.
But we kept running into the same problem every billing company does: the data we need to bill accurately and efficiently lives in too many disconnected places. Scheduling data affects staffing costs. Dispatch data drives call volume projections. Clinical quality directly impacts denial rates. And none of these systems talk to each other natively.
So we decided to build the connections ourselves.
What the Platform Includes
Live Today: Revenue Cycle Management
Our full RCM operation runs on the platform, including:
- Multi-stage claim pipeline with real-time tracking
- Payment posting and reconciliation
- Payor and facility management
- EDI/clearinghouse integration
- Patient billing with white-labeled communications
- 11+ built-in reports and a Performance Scorecard
In Beta: 13 Additional Modules
We're actively developing modules for:
- Operations — Dispatch, fleet management, inventory, station displays
- Workforce — Scheduling, credentials, recruiting, time tracking
- Clinical — QA review, ePCR charting
- Intelligence — Analytics, dashboards, AI tools
- Community Health — MIH patient management
- Safety & Education — Incident tracking, training management
The Vision: Connected Data, Better Outcomes
The core insight is simple: when every department's data lives in the same system, every department gets smarter.
Billing sees staffing patterns that affect documentation quality. Operations sees which call types generate the most revenue. HR sees which certifications expire before they become compliance problems. And leadership gets a single dashboard that shows the complete health of their agency.
This isn't about replacing every tool your agency uses tomorrow. It's about building toward a future where the data that drives your mission is connected, visible, and actionable — all in one place.
Getting Involved
Our RCM service is live and taking new agencies today. If you're interested in early access to the full platform beta, reach out to our team. We're working closely with partner agencies to shape these modules around real-world EMS workflows.
We believe EMS agencies deserve better software. We're building it.
